Alexandria Faculty of Medicine
Established in 1942 under the patronage of King Farouk, the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University stands as a cornerstone of medical education in Egypt.
It was originally founded to bridge the gap in healthcare expertise across the country’s northern region.
The faculty’s beginnings were modest yet ambitious: academic lectures were first hosted at Abbasiya Secondary School, while clinical training was pioneered within the halls of Al-Amiriya Hospital.
Since then, the institution has evolved into a global center of excellence. Today, it is a powerhouse of medical research and innovation, dedicated to shaping highly skilled physicians who lead healthcare advancements both in Egypt and on the international stage.
